Michael Murphy’s orientation to therapy is primarily from Psychodynamic, Jungian, Feminist and non-western (particularly Eastern/Zen) perspectives. He has a strong interest in spiritual issues and does considerable work with dreamwork and meditation – personally and in therapy and workshops/teaching. Michael teaches group psychotherapy, couples therapy, and supervision of supervision. He also works extensively with family of origin, addictions, abuse and recovery issues. He consults with the UF athletic department on issues of substance abuse and mental health. Other areas of professional interest include: hypnosis and imagery, sexual identity issues, stress and anxiety disorders, multiculturalism, and gender role issues.
